The Lubbock Women’s Club Historical Foundation was established to
preserve, protect and promote the historic and architectural character of
the building at 2020 Broadway, and was organized for charitable and
educational purposes. In 1979 the building was designated a historical
landmark by the City of Lubbock.
The restoration project honored the memory of Mary L. Livermore, founder of the Livermore Foundation, and philanthropist, Margaret Talkington, a living legend. |

original beauty with funds
from a grant by the Mary L.
Livermore Foundation.|
Contributions make a valuable impact in maintaining the clubhouse as one of Lubbock’s most beautiful historic buildings, and help preserve today’s elegance. Gifts are gratefully accepted in several categories: as memorials and honors for those loved and cherished, donations designated toward an "Angel of the Foundation" and as general donations to the nonprofit Foundation. Various beneficiary options are available that may be included in estate planning. The Foundation was established in 1999 following approval by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) foundation. The designation allows tax-deductible contributions and grant awards to be used for the preservation, restoration and maintenance of the historic building, it's furnishings and decorative items, and the grounds associated with the building.
